“If we want a different society… we have to educate differently”. With this phrase the seed of a dream called Ekirayá School, Montessori Education was planted.

The name

The name “Erikayá” represents the essence of the school, it means “Share and Teach”, Teach from sharing, accompany and guide. It comes originally from the word Wayuunaiki (mother tongue of the Wayuu, Colombian Guajira region).

On June 2005 Ekirayá Montessori School education started as a dream for their founders and some head of household. A dream that sought a social change, through a different educative proposal, based on the Montessori philosophy and its postulate of “Educate for life and Educate for peace”.

That dream is a reality today. It is a bid to prepare new individuals who, like all of us, want a better place to live.

The educative program of Ekirayá School is inspired on Montessori pedagogy basis where the student is the main character of his/her own learning process.

This model makes our school into an ideal space to develop skills for life, for peace towards an academic excellence.
