Process for 'children's house' (4-6 years old) Get to know us and experience Ekirayá Montessori
Our admissions process allows you to learn about our school and allows us to assess whether we can meet your expectations. We enroll twice a year: September-November for Children’s House (ages 4-6) and March-May for Workshop 1 and 2 (ages 6-11), subject to availability. You can pre-register at any time. Remember that demand exceeds supply, so we evaluate each application based on age, gender, and available space.

About Montessori Education
Why do you group children by different ages?
Montessori classes are organized to encompass an age difference of two or three years, which allows younger students to receive stimulation from older students, who in turn benefit from serving as role models. However, in an class with diverse ages, children can always find peers who are working at the same level.
Why is Montessori education so innovative?
Because it makes the child the true protagonist of the whole educational process. Maria Montessori believed in the need of child autonomy, the child being his or her own teacher.
How can Montessori be brought into homes?
The family, as the first guides of learning, play a very important role. Being in contact with a Montessori environment and speech through the school, parents understand the need to have a “prepared environment” at home, which means nothing more than “letting the child be” autonomous and responsible; having his things at his disposal so that he can freely access them: clothes, toys, books, etc.; giving him tasks to do at home according to his age: setting the table, serving juice, washing dishes, folding clothes, etc. to give a few examples.
What readings can you recommend about the Montessori method?
Maria Montessori wrote many books, but it depends on the interest or motivation with which you want to study (parent, teacher, etc.) but we can mention some like “The Absorbent Mind”, “The Secret of Childhood”, “The Formation of Man” and “Educating for a New World”.
